erm, hello out there?
I'm not really sure what one is supposed to say in these things, I mean I don't have a specific message to give out to the world or anything, I'm just writing about my life in order to develop my writing.
In light of that I suppose I should tell you something about myself: I've just done my GCSEs so now I'm enjoying my summer/trying to get a part-time job/worrying about college. You see there's a 6th form at my school but I don't want to go there so I've applied to this really great college that's meant to be one of the top top top ones in the country. The trouble is that in going there I'm taking myself away from all my friends who I love to bits.
I digress. I do have other things going on in my life at the moment. I have a boyfriend -Luke- who I am head-over-heels in love with
Whenever someone under the age of 20 says that people scoff and roll their eyes and use phrases like "oh don't be silly" or "you're too young to even spell love" or even the dreaded two words that make the whole world cringe "puppy love" But I think people forget what it was like to be young and in love for the first time. How suddenly everything is not necessarily different, but somehow more than it was before. It's special because it's all new, and I don't think anyone has really forgotten their first love, whatever they say.
What else do I like? I suppose to put it briefly: old things. I love all the classic literature like the Brontes and Jane Austen (I have a particular love for her but I'll save that for another blog, I tend to ramble where Jane is concerned) and I love vintage clothes and jewellery. I sometimes feel like I was born too late, I just love the way things were in the past. Everything was more personal, more real. I know that sounds unbelievably hypocritical coming from someone who is at this moment communicating with total strangers over the internet
If i could I'd write everything by hand and always send letters instead of emails or myspace comments, but the post isn't what it was in Jane's day. I also have more things to do than she did.
Anyway, I think this will be a sufficient introduction to me and my blog, I intend to write once a week, and I promise they won't all be as random and slapdash as this one, there will be a topic. And who knows? If I feel brave and creative I might even try out some actual writing on you people. I aim to have written a novel by the time I'm 30, so judging by the pace of this blog I'd better get cracking.
Watch this space.

I honestly don't mean this to be snotty, which is probably how it will come out, but an aspiring writer needs to make sure there are no spelling mistakes in the heading of her blog! Good luck with it.

I agree with what you said about the past being more personal. I think these days, people are losing the art of communication. As in, face to face communication. A lot of people now they communicate through the computer and when it comes to face to face they don't know how to deal with people, they just sort of sit in a corner and only talk to those who talk to them first.
In some cases it's a characteristic of their personality, in another it's a result of the way younger people communicate. Things like Msn, myspace, facebook, have become so ordinary that it's the face to face conversations that become the inordinary. Now younger people struggle to find a connection with people away from the internet because of lack of practise.
You know I always thought it'd be great if we went back to letters because then at least you would have to write something worth reading. With emails, instant messages, the amount of words used just gets shorter and shorter, and these days it's all abbreviated so it's even worse and a lot more impersonal.
Bring back reading, out with television.
Now that I've said that. Make sure you keep writing in here! I've noticed you've not written anything in a while. Another blog soon!
